STEPINQUEST® is a literary, narrative, and investigative framework that can operate both autonomously and within other forms — extending them and introducing operational depth.

The framework describes the investigative “engine” in a structured form, enabling its application beyond any specific case, topic, or temporal boundary.

The methodology is formalized in the STEPINQUEST® White Paper, where its principles and structure are defined. A corresponding academic article has been submitted to an international peer-reviewed journal.

STEPINQUEST® is not a theoretical construct but a documented practice. The KARAGODIN® Investigation serves as its first implementation.

The framework is open for use, testing, and further development.

Расследование КАРАГОДИНА прошло структурную трансформацию. Проект получил полноценное методологическое оформление. Он больше не существует как отдельный кейс, а разворачивается и функционирует как методологическая и институциональная система (производящая в том числе и научное знание), и позиционируется как операционная система.

Я сформулировал и зафиксировал его концепцию в виде академического документа — KARAGODIN® Investigation White Paper, фиксирующего методологию и структуру проекта. В нем собрана целостная модель расследования: его методология, фреймворк, этические принципы, ключевые понятия и операционные механизмы. Введена и систематизирована собственная терминология.

Документ имеет DOI и может использоваться как полноценный источник для академического цитирования, научной работы и аналитических публикаций.

Это означает, что расследование переходит в свою новую фазу — фазу институционализации.

Теперь это не только уникальный частный кейс, но и воспроизводимая система: масштабируемая модель, которую можно применять, развивать и использовать как платформу для других исследований.

Практическое значение этого перехода уже наглядно можно проследить.

KARAGODIN® Investigation — White Paper by Denis Karagodin: This document establishes a structured conceptual, methodological, and analytical framework for the KARAGODIN® Investigation.

This transformation has been formally articulated in the KARAGODIN® Investigation White Paper, a foundational methodological document developed by Denis Karagodin. The White Paper systematizes the project’s conceptual architecture and presents its methodology, analytical framework, ethical principles, key terminology, and operational logic in a coherent academic format.

At its core, the project represents a transformation from a singular case into a reproducible epistemic model. What initially began as an attempt to establish the factual circumstances surrounding the execution of Stepan Karagodin has developed into a system capable of integrating heterogeneous sources — archival, legal, personal, and cultural — into a unified evidentiary and interpretive structure.

This transition marks a shift from narrative reconstruction to methodological construction. The investigation no longer functions solely as a historical account but as a process-oriented framework that generates knowledge through the continuous accumulation, verification, and contextualization of documents.

A defining feature of this framework is its reliance on primary sources obtained from official Russian state institutions, including the Ministry of Defense, the Federal Security Service (FSB), the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Penitentiary Service, and prosecutorial bodies at various levels. These materials are supplemented by private archives, family documents, and independent research contributions.
